Grading Policy for Mr. Sholl's Band Classes
Grades will be calculated through monthly playing tests as well as performance in our winter and spring concerts. Each trimester there will be an optional "challenge test."
Each playing test will be graded as such:
3- Student shows proficiency on key concepts of the playing test
2- Student is approaching proficiency on key concepts of playing test
1- Student is far below proficiency on key concepts of the playing test
Challenge Test: Upon passing all the monthly passing tests in the trimester, students will have the option of taking the "challenge test" for that trimester. By passing the challenge test, students will earn a 4 on their report card.
Parents are encouraged to regularly check PowerSchool to monitor student progress in band.
